Gokino

Header & Subscription Guide

The Header is your command center in Gokino. It stays visible at the top of the IDE and provides access to critical controls.

Toolbar Controls

1. Sidebar Toggle (Menu Icon)

Click the hamburger menu icon on the far left to expand or collapse the Left Sidebar (File Explorer). This is useful when you need more screen real estate for coding.

2. Board Selector

The dropdown menu shows your currently selected board (e.g., "Arduino Uno").

  • Click to Change: Opens a list of supported boards.
  • Search: Type to quickly find your board model.

3. Port Selector

Shows the currently connected USB port (e.g., "COM3" or "/dev/ttyUSB0").

  • Connect: If no port is selected, click to open the browser's WebSerial picker.
  • Auto-detect: Gokino attempts to auto-detect connected Arduino devices.

4. Connection Status

Located in the center, this indicator shows the status of the WebSerial connection:

  • Green Dot: Connected and ready.
  • Red/Gray Dot: Disconnected.

5. Action Buttons

  • Verify (Play Icon): Compiles your code in the cloud. This checks for syntax errors without flashing the board.
    • Shortcut: Ctrl + R (Windows/Linux) or Cmd + R (Mac).
  • Upload (Arrow Icon): Compiles the code and flashes the binary to the connected board.
    • Shortcut: Ctrl + U (Windows/Linux) or Cmd + U (Mac).
  • Serial Monitor (Terminal Icon): Toggles the bottom Output Panel to show the Serial Monitor.
    • Shortcut: Ctrl + M (Windows/Linux) or Cmd + M (Mac).
  • AI Assistant (Bot Icon): Toggles the Right Sidebar for AI chat.

Subscription & Credits

Gokino uses a credit system to manage cloud resources for AI generation and compilation.

Checking Balance

Your current credit balance is displayed on the right side of the header.

  • Hover: See detailed breakdown of credits used vs. remaining.

Top-up

Click on the credit display to open the Credit Management modal.

  • Purchase: Buy more credits securely via Stripe/PayPal.
  • History: View your usage history.

Plans

  • Lite ($5/mo): 300 credits/mo, Basic AI access.
  • Pro ($10/mo): 900 credits/mo, Advanced models, Priority support.
  • Max ($20/mo): 2500 credits/mo, All models, Team features.
  • Top-up: Buy 150 credits for $3.00 (never expire).

Note: New users receive 100 free credits upon registration.
